Well Xmas has come and gone and we are on the road toward show season. I personally can’t wait. Our next show is the FEb 10th, Southlands Schooling Show. After that we will probably fit in a schooling show for Fuzz and then off to the APHA show in Chilliwack.

Everyone is doing very well - including Flashy who is now jumping 3′ courses without a problem. I can’t wait until she is ready for the shows. Hopefully someone will take her this spring.

 Vinnie is also doing very well. He is a perfect gentleman with Lori and is coming along very nice over fences. Now jumping 2′6″

Fuzz is now doing her flying changes and is slowly being started O/F. I haven’t pushed her to much as I would like her to complete her flat work first..

Well I was fortunate to have Monday and Tuesday as vacation days.  And I was able to have time to ride everyone. I rode Flashy on Monday she was very good, we jumped up to 2′9″ and next week we will be starting her flying changes.

Tuesday I rode Vinnie and Fuzz - both were very good. And have now settled in quite well and they seem to like the work they are now doing. Vinnie jumped a 2′3″ vertical and Fuzz as well. Vinnie needs a bit more push to go over the jump and Fuzz just goes over. She has only ever refused twice.. She usually just goes over… Maybe Fuzz is going to be a better hunter than Vinnie… Should be interesting to see how each develops this winter…

Next week , Vinnie and I will be working on his left lead and some small jumps. Fuzz and I will be working on her lflying lead changes and small cross rails.

Nothing in our schedule for this coming month - just schooling unless of course Blue Meadow has another dressage day in which case I am in.

See Attached - shows my days at barn and which days Flashy and Vinnie are not available Black days are when I ride and other colors are when other people are riding and horses are not available.

Show Schedule 2008

Dec 2^nd – Dressage Percentage Day – Fuzz and Vinnie

Finally, got to ride Vinnie today….He was a very good boy for not being ridden for a few weeks. Got him over a few fences, he now has gained a little confidence today and did awesome in the end….

Well even though it rained I did get a chance to ride both of my horses! Fuzz and Vinnie are both coming along very well. Fuzz is able to round and get on the bit at w/t/c  and getting all her leads. Vinnie is able to round and get on the bit at w/t and got his leads 90% of the time. He is still working on rounding at canter.

As some of you know we have brought home yet another rescue. Thin she is. Here are some photos, this is the same day we got her. We will update with progress and pictures as time goes by…

Gone to DRC Trophy Show ALL DAY

For Fuzz and I and possibly Vinnie. So expect us to be gone for the morning and I will be back for lessons in the afternoon.

Also August 11/12 is the DRC Trophy Show for all the kids that want to go please let me know by August 1st at the latest. There will be a list of things you will need to buy before the show , so you each have your own stuff for your own horse. As well I will be having some “cubbies” built for everyone to keep there stuff in at the barn. They will have individual doors and locks.

Again, if you are showing you must be available all day the day before the show and parents must accompany children to the show and be sure to keep them organized….
