Happy New Year Everyone!

We have some exciting news for the new year. We will be attending the Valentine’s Day Schooling Show in Southlands. This year I will be taking Vinnie.

So this summer I thought I was smart and I decide to buy a whole lot of hay cheap and get it out the field, so I would have enough for all year. Now I spent all weekend moving it again. And yes - it is just as painful as the first time…

Only a few more loads left - one more day of hauling hay…

No riding! It rained so hard this weekend I was not able to ride at all. I was at the Mane Event shopping (of course!) but I didn get a chance to watch the George Morris clinic which was very good.

As some of you know we have brought home yet another rescue. Thin she is. Here are some photos, this is the same day we got her. We will update with progress and pictures as time goes by…

For Fuzz and I and possibly Vinnie. So expect us to be gone for the morning and I will be back for lessons in the afternoon.

Also August 11/12 is the DRC Trophy Show for all the kids that want to go please let me know by August 1st at the latest. There will be a list of things you will need to buy before the show , so you each have your own stuff for your own horse. As well I will be having some “cubbies” built for everyone to keep there stuff in at the barn. They will have individual doors and locks.

Again, if you are showing you must be available all day the day before the show and parents must accompany children to the show and be sure to keep them organized….

Well Vinnie and I made it through. Thanks to everyone for coming and supporting us.

We came home with 2 Second Place ribbons and 2 Third place ribbons. Not bad for a horse who has never been to a show before and has only jumped half a dozen times. Below are some photos:

Now remember I was on a green horse so my position might not be the best - I was only trying to stay on!

It was a sad day on Saturday when we had to put Adi (Mia’s horse) down. She will be missed at the barn. 

Adi, was put down because she had one to many infections to fight and after months and months of fighting enough was enough anymore and her body couldn’t take. She had lymphangytis.

Adi is now in horsey heaven.

P.s This is not the way to do your hair! Bring a knowledgeable groom with you who can fix these things

I will be at DRC Sunday morning  and my classes are starting at 9am . For all those who would like to come and watch. It being Vinnie’s first show, it could be entertaining! We are not quite sure how he will react.!
