Some of you may know of these changes and some may not. So there are going to be a few changes around the barn, etc…

I have accepted a new position at the Vancouver Board of Trade and will be working Monday to Frida 830-5pm. Because of this there is a few things that have to change.

1. I wont be able to have barn hours on Friday evenings. If you are leasing and Friday is one of your lease days, please have one of your parents or an adult with you.

2. Feeding time is now 6:00 pm for the horses not 5pm.

3. I am no longer going to be able to teach during the weekdays and Cathy will be taking over lessons on weekdays evenings.

Besides that Flashy has been put up for sale, we are not expecting her to sell before winter so, no worries. Cash will be leaving us and returning to Greener Pastures as it is not working out. He will be returning sometime in the next two weeks or so. Vinnie will be staying as the newest member of the lesson string…

Awhile a ago, I post barn rules which included show rules. Some of these rules have not been followed by everyone. I am posting again… If everyone does not follow them - its simple we wont be going to shows anymore. There is absolutely no negotiation on these rules. Dont ask me to bend the rules for you as the answer will be NO. Showing is a priviledge and I do it out of the goodness of my heart, not because I enjoy the stress that comes along with it.

SHOWS

1. You are responsible for your horse, you, fees, and equipment used in the show
2. Parents must accompany all riders for the full period of the show. I am most likely going to be riding in the show as well and cannot look after you.
3. Horses come first meaning you must allow your horse time to rest, eat and drink.
4. You are responsible for cleaning up after your self and your horse.
5. It is your job to know what classes you are in and what time you need to be ready. Under no circumstances should you tack up your horse too early.
6. If you are going to scratch a class you need to let me know at least 3 classes ahead. Any time past that you will be required to ride.
7. You are responsible for getting yourself and your equipment to the show. My responsibility is getting the horses there.
8. You will not sit on your horse the whole time while at the show. Horses are living animals and need a break also, if there is more than a 2 class break between your classes, you are required to take your horse back to the trailer for some water or hay.
9. You must be available the “ENTIRE” Day before the show and required to get yourself ready - yes everything… the only thing I am doing is clipping…

Again, If you cant follow the rules then you cant show.. bottom line….

This weekend there will be no barn hours. I will be taking a mini vacation and doing some family things. So lessons are on as usual but barn hours have been cancelled. If you have a lease and the weekend is a lease day for you, please have an adult with you when you ride or you can ride while I am teaching a lesson. Any other time on the weekend I will not be there.

Well this was probably the most difficult show we had to get ready for.

This was Chelsea’s second show and she did excellent. She received 2- 3rd places and 2 - 5th places. There was a huge number of people in each class. Congrats Chelsea.

Emily also attended taking Flashy to her first show. She received a 3rd in one of her classes. There was an amazing amount of people in her classes which made it extremely difficult to keep Flashy cantering, but after her inital nervousness she did it. So many they had to split some of the classes and have one group canter and then the other group canter. Congrats to Emily for getting her first show with Flashy under her belt. They did awesome keeping calm and not getting excited.. It can only get better from here.

Both the girls will now be practicing everything they need to work on for the Sept 9th English Western Show….

All the girls and I would like to thank all our grooms and Moms who were at the show to help out! Without you guys this would have been very crazy. So congrats and thanks to everyone. You should all give yourself a pat on the back….. You did awesome.
