The rain filled Saturday

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Everyone made it through the rain filled Saturday. I was surprised to see it rain as it usually doesn’t rain at the barn.

I was impressed with everyone’s preserverance thru the rain. Now we know everyone at Hylee Training is a dedicated horse person. Way to go everyone! This weekend we had a mini theory lesson. (It was a quick unscheduled one - due to the rain) And this week I will be at work making a real theory lesson plan.  So next time it rains we will be all set.

For our next theory lesson ( hopefully not til sometime in the month of March ) we will be learning all the parts of the horse, saddle and bridle.

See everyone next weekend.

All is well at Hylee Training lately. We have a few new students who have just joined us and we hope they will join us this summer at the shows!

Suzy is doing well and we have figured out she is an escape artist. She enjoys roaming the shedrow in her spare time. We hope to see some weight gain on her this coming month. Right now she is shedding all over everywhere, which i would guess is because she was malnourished at her previous home and that it is a little bit warmer here in Richmond then on the Sunshine Coast.

Vinnie is coming along quite well. Today I rode him bareback walk, trot canter and over poles. This is quite an improvement over the bucking and rearing horse we had on our hands when he first arrived. All in all I am quite impressed with his progress.

Cassia now has a new student that will hopefully get her in better shape. Now she can get ridden on a more regular basis - it will be excellent for her. Tommorow I will be taking her off the market and she will no longer available for sale.

Fuzz is now back on her reining training as I rode her yesterday. And tommorow she will have a new student to teach and some one else to give her some exercise. And she really needs it.

When the first of the month comes around we will have one spot open for boarding or one spot open for training. Or possibly another lesson horse… who knows!

I forgot to add… we have a new horse in training. Shawna. Shawna is a draft horse cross that Ayla (my working student ) and I will be working with over the next few months to get her ready for the upcoming show season. Right now Shawna is green broke and we are working a few of the wrinkles out first before we can start to get ready for the shows. I will post updates as they happen.

Haven’t had much time to post lately as things have been crazy as usual. Ever know a barn that wasn’t crazy? No really the barn isn’t that busy but I am. We are up to 4 horses now. 3 and a pony. View the About Us page to view new photos of Suzy.

Lessons are getting going now that the weather is a little better. And we still have a couple spots open for lessons if you are interested. And one spot open for full board. Also Vinnie is coming along well and Cassia has a new student! Ayla who will be taking lessons on her. They had their first lesson together today.
