First Day of Training at New Barn - Oct.30th, 2006

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Today I rode Cassia. She is the older Thoroughbred, we have. She is owned by me and we are getting ready for th Beth Underhill clinic that we will be attending on Dec 9th at Aquarius Stables in Langley. The move has Cassia quite worried or anxious I am confused which now, but who knows. She is quite stressed by the whole thing. So today we spend most of her time lunging and calming her nerves as we try and get back into her routine. There really isn’t much sense in me trying to make her do something that I know she cannot handle until I get her back into her routine. Until then we have had to take a step back and we will be  lunging with some in the saddle work for the rest of the week. And cross my fingers we should be good to go and starting jumping again next week.

Moved IN!

Monday, October 30th, 2006

We are finally all moved in and it couldn’t have happened any sooner. And I got one day to relax. And of course I just couldn’t keep myself away from the barn.

Everyone is settling in just fine except for Cassia, who is a little worried she might be sold. As she had someone interested in leasing her that rode her right before getting on the trailer to go to her new home. She is also very confused having her Mom feed her and turn her out. I am sure she will start to settle in soon.

Altogether we have 4 horses at the barn. Cassia, Fuzz, Kitty and Ellie. Cassia will continue her jumper training on Monday and Fuzz will continue her reining training. Also Winger will be arriving on Wednesday to begin his hunter/jumper training.

All in all the moving went well except for the fact that there was a truck parked too close to the back of the trailer when I unloaded Cassia and she sat on it. And made a pretty big dent into a friend of mines brand new truck! I feel so bad!

Moving In

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

Well, today I spent most of the day organizing and cleaning up the barn and figuring out exactly where everything was going to go. We have decided to covert the tack room back into a stall as it originally was, thus creating 6 box stalls which just gives us more room for more horses.

We are still looking for one full/semi boarder to fill up the last stall. We have 3 acres of pasture, still open and huge paddocks as well as a lit ring for night riding. Our all weather outdoor ring has excellent footing especially since we are in Richmond where things tend me to a little wet.

We are also looking for someone to do morning feeding and turnout Mon - Fri. If you are interested please email me. Or even if you just know someone.
